Each term, the Records Management Office assists departments and units across the university improve their record-keeping. This effort is made possible through a partnership between the Work Learn Program; the units who are looking for record-keeping improvement; the iSchool students who bring the program alive; and myself, Barbara Towell, e-Records Manager, student mentor and co-supervisor for all records management projects for the university. This partnership helps students achieve meaningful work experience in their chosen field in a safe, supported environment. But this year might be different. Given the current financial crunch at the university, this funding cycle promises to be competitive. To help meet this challenge, I have rewritten and refreshed the funding application and I want to share it with any unit that is thinking about applying to the Work Learn Program to hire an iSchool student to help improve their record-keeping.
