This is where the magic happens!
Hi everyone! It’s Liz again, sadly for the last time this year. I’m leaving this position with Barb to focus on my studies and won’t be writing the blog posts anymore. But fret not, there will still be excellent blog posts ahead! I’ll even give you an exclusive sneak peek of what’s coming, and that’s the biennial Records Management survey in the Summer (please keep an eye on your inboxes then, we look forward to hearing what you have to say!)
I have had the most enjoyable time here in this last year and a half and wouldn’t be leaving unless I had to. Barb is an incredible mentor and I learned so much more than I ever thought I would working with her (I know Excel formulas now???). Everyone is super kind and welcoming, and the Work Learn positions are really a place to apply your class knowledge into real work scenarios without the pressure of needing to succeed the first try. If you’re reading this and wondering if a WL position is for you, give it a shot!
We did so much together since 2024! We worked on compiling the results of the last survey, wrote some (I hope) exciting blog posts, updated several website areas (did you notice now the Retention Schedules have a little blue section on them?), included a “Recently Updated Schedules” box in the main Retention Schedules page so changes are more visible, worked on the Peter Wall fonds, and worked on several Governance Projects with different departments (these are a lot of work but in the end everyone is so pleased with the results that it’s totally worth it). Wow that was a lot! Time sure flies by when you’re having fun (:
